Tharon Marin Denton (1934-2025)

Tharon Marin Denton, 91, of Marana, Arizona, passed away on August 9, 2025. She was born in Kalamazoo, Michigan on February 12, 1934 to Archie and Texas Lawrence (both Deceased), and was the older sister of Vala Walker (Deceased) and Richard Lawrence (Deceased).

Tharon was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She served alongside her husband who was in both the Navy and Air Force stationed in multiple locations throughout the United States and a three-year oversea deployment in Japan. She was a homemaker raising her children until they were old enough for her to go back into the workforce. She loved her job with Kmart and worked for many years in different positions and finally retiring as their Receiving Manager.

Tharon was a fabulous cook and took great joy in a well-stocked fridge and a table crowded with loved ones to feed; she loved being on a team with her sister bowling with her league every week; and was a fan of watching football and baseball always with a spiral notebook at her side keeping stats on every player and game.

Tharon was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years Gary Wesley Denton, but leaves behind a very large and loving family. She is survived by children Laura Burns (John), Troy Denton (Cheryl, Deceased), Tina Moore (Michael), Brenda Johnson (Terry), and Tracy Peña (Gabriel); grandchildren Clint Burns (Nicole), Matthew Burns, Jesse Burns, Andrew Denton (Melissa), Corey Denton, Kristen Robey (Matt), Bobby Miles, Tonya Miles (Kevin), Jarrett Moore (Elena), Travis Moore, Wesley Johnson, Robin "Nikki" Johnson, Cody Johnson, Steven Peña (Crystal), Kathryn Hilander (Jake); great-grandchildren Kayla Burns, Dylan Burns, Alexander Burns, Kandace Burns, Jacob Burns, Zakary Burns, Ava Denton, Amelia Denton, Audrey Denton, Kameryn Robey, Madilyn Robey, Scarlett Lloyd, Harper Lloyd, Jake Miles, Hunter Miles, Emerson Moore, Avery Moore, Ryleigh Johnson, Sydnee Johnson, Maley Hilander, Leo Hilander, Wes Hilander, Nicholas Ybarra, Emily Ybarra, Isaac Ybarra, Sophia Ybarra, Noah Ybarra and Elijah Ybarrra who will never forget the love she brought to their lives.

A Celebration of Life will be held in Tharon's honor on Saturday, October 11, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Marana Mortuary Cemetery 12146 W. Barnett Road Marana, AZ 85653.
