Thelbert Boykin Obituary

Bailey, North Carolina - Thelbert "Danny" Daniel Boykin, Jr., 73, of Bailey, passed away Sunday. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Saturday, December 10, 2022, at Joyner's Funeral Home. The North Carolina Army National Guard Chaplain will officiate.
Danny is survived by his sons; Jonathan Boykin and wife, Zoe of Raleigh and Matthew Boykin and fiancée, Mary Somer King of Warsaw; brother, Donnie Boykin, Sr., of Wilson; sister, Lisa Ferrell of Bailey; brother, Mark Boykin of Bailey; and grandchildren; Avery Boykin, Jonathan Alexander "Alex" Boykin, Bryson Boykin and Conner Boykin.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Susan Boykin; and his parents, Thelbert and Clarice Boykin; and nephews; Autry Lamm and Donnie Boykin, Jr.
Danny was a loving husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Danny was a proud veteran of the North Carolina Army National Guard, retiring at the rank of Sergeant Major after thirty-three years of service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made in Danny's memory to the Alzheimer's Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Fl.17, Chicago, Illinois, 60601, or alz.org
