Theodore N. Bemiss Jr.

Theodore N Bemiss Jr, age 69, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Monday, December 22, 2025 after a yearlong battle with cancer.

Theodore, known to all as Ted or Teddy was predeceased by his parents Theodore and Doris (nee Shinn) Bemiss, His Sisters Pauline Bemiss, and Jackie Wilson, and brother Carl Gergely. He is survived by his sons, Jeffrey Bemiss (Christine), Devon Leonard (Valerie), Allen Simmerman, his grandsons Gary Bemiss and RJ Nagel and granddaughter, Noelle Kulakowski. He is also survived by his brother George Gergely (Jean Marie), and sisters, Joan Kania and Helen Saville (Paul).He also leaves many nieces and nephews, whom he loved dearly.

Ted was a Veteran and served with the US Navy until he was medically discharged. He was best known for his humor and straight forward talking. When Ted was around, he had you laughing! His love of adventure took him to Alaska, where he worked on a crab fishing vessel, hauling in nets of crabs, and enjoyed being a chef at a hotel's restaurant in Yakima, Washington. He spent hours down the river hunting for driftwood and other treasures. He could talk up a storm on the phone about aliens and outer space. In his job driving for Access Link, he would keep his passengers happy and smiling with his sense of humor. Even near the end he was laughing and making us smile.

A viewing for Ted will be held on Saturday, December 27th from 8:30am to 10:30am, followed by a funeral service at 10:30am, all at Weber Funeral Home, 112 Broad St., Riverton, NJ 08077. Interment will follow at Lakeview Memorial Park, Cinnaminson, NJ.
