Theodore Raymond Guichard

Theodore Raymond Guichard, affectionally known as "Teddy", "Mr. T", and "Old Man Teddy" was born June 21, 1937 in New Orleans, LA to the union of Preston and Mercedes Guichard, Sr. He was the third of six children born from their union.
He served in the U. S. Army from June 29, 1955 to June 27, 1958. He was honorably discharged on June 1, 1963. After the Army, Teddy was a Chef at Howard Johnson's Motor Lodge on Loyola Ave. where he met and married Cleta Gauthier of New Roads, LA in 1970. He retired from Howard Johnson's in 1973. He later went on to work as a Cook, Bartender, and Manager at Hank's Bar until August 2005.
Teddy departed this life on November 1, 2024 at the age of 87. He is survived by his wife Cleta Guichard and their daughter Stacey Lynn Guichard. He is also survived by his only son Theodore Guichard, Jr. (Lydia Condoll), his daughters Twilean (Sam) Morrison (Lydia Condoll); Sondra Lynn Guichard (Agnes Banks); Tracey Lynn Hines (Helen Hines); nine grandchildren, Arielle (Stacey); Terrell, Quinnika, Kentrell, Twilean, Tyrece (Twilean); Marc, Erik, Jamie (Theodore, Jr.); 11 great grandchildren Logan, Madison (Terrell); Landon, Dreux, Dakarai, Jr. (Quinnika); Ki'Ree, Erik, Jr., Eri'yonne (Erik, Sr.); Anaya (Kentrell); Lucas, Quinton, Jr. (Twilean); his sister Lethia Guichard and a host of nieces, nephews, godchildren (12), family and friends.
Teddy had a very devoted "in crowd" that he always talked about, specifically his granddaughters Arielle and Terrell, his great granddaughter Maddie, his nephews Wayne and Jamal Kendrick; his niece and first godchild Wanda Wells, his brother-in-law Michael Gauthier and his sister-in-law's Brenda Guichard and Linda Gauthier.
Teddy was preceded in death by his mother Mercedes Morrison Mansion Guichard, his father Preston Joseph Guichard Sr., his brothers Preston Joseph Guichard Jr. and Freddie Peter Guichard, his sisters Doris Guichard Kendrick and Miriam Guichard Wells, his mother and father-in-law, and three brothers-in-law's.
Relatives and friends of the family are all invited to attend his Memorial Service on Friday, November 15, 2024, 12:00PM, at D'Vine Event Hall, 1449 N. Claiborne Ave (Kerlerec St. Entrance), NOLA.
