Theodore "Ted" S. Rhodes, age 88, of McCordsville, passed away peacefully at 6:30 P.M. on Sunday, December 11, 2022 at Springhurst Health Campus in Greenfield. He was born in Petersburg on October 30, 1934, the son of Sherman and Lela (Leighty) Rhodes.
Ted retired from Citizens Energy Group after 33 years of service. He enjoyed watching Dodger's baseball, playing guitar, singing, and visiting with others while telling jokes.
He is survived by his children, Monta (Rick) Blankenship of Greenfield, Marcina "Diane" (Don) Mumma of Brazil, Carl Rhodes of Linton, and Carla (Linda) Sullivan of Linton; step-children, Randy (Tina) Rollins of Fortville, Misti (Wayne) Duerstock of Mooresville, and Michael Rollins of Mooresville; grandchildren, Mandy (Josh) Hancock, Marcy (Larry) Vankirk, Jennifer (Frank) Vandiver, Adam (Melanie) Mumma, Alex (Ashley) Mumma, Abraham (Mandy) Sullivan, Lynsey (Thomas) Morgan, Erik Duerstock, Dustin (Erin) Duerstock, Zach Rollins, and Grant Rollins; great-grandchildren, Brandon (Maggie) Crouse, Allison Vankirk, Landon Vandiver, Matthew Vankirk, Cole Vandiver, Cameron Vandiver, Caden Hancock, Olivia Hancock, Rezin Mumma, Tristen Mumma, Eyan Sullivan, Isabelle Mumma, Leland Mumma, Emry Sullivan, Tyler Mumma, Tucker Mumma, Kainen Morgan, Reid Morgan, Wyatt Morgan, Joel Bustamante, and Jack Rollins; and two sisters, Loretta (Jim) Hainley and Joyce (Jim) Lawrence.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Elizabeth "Beth" Ann (Nolting) Rhodes; a brother, Bernard; and four sisters, Myrtle, Mae, Marilyn, and Betty.
Funeral service will be held at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Linton at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, December 16, 2022. Burial will follow in Switz City Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 12 noon until the time of service.
