Theresa L. Becker (nee Hahn), age 88, of Hartford, passed away at home with her family by her side on Wednesday, June 11, 2025. Her wish to be at home in her final days was granted by all the loving care her family provided. Her 4-legged friend, Jordy, never left her side.
Theresa was born on November 13, 1936, to Frank and Clara (nee Bohn) Hahn. She was united in marriage to Eugene (Fritz) Becker on April 16, 1955, at St. Peters Catholic Church in Slinger, WI. Theresa worked at Hartford Union High School in food service for over 23 years and was also well known in the area for her booming egg business.
Theresa's indomitable spirit was evident in every adventure she embarked on. She loved fiercely and enjoyed many things wholeheartedly! She cherished her first-ever walk in the ocean, going on cruises, going to watch wrestling meets, dance competitions, baseball, basketball and football games and traveling to incredible places like Germany, Italy, Austria and Alaska. Some of her fondest memories came from the time she spent amongst friends at the Tamarack Center, where laughter and joy filled the air. Her presence at the Center brought joy and warmth to everyone around her. She also loved desserts of all kinds, Läderach chocolate, reading, playing cards, coloring on her iPad and spending time with her family.
Theresa was immensely proud of her family and grateful for the life she had. She loved each and every one of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They always brought a smile to her face, and she was forever thankful for the love they shared. Theresa's legacy of love, adventure, and family will always be remembered.
She is survived by her five children: Ginny (Dan) Allar, Patsy Lulich, Marlene (Thomas) Rohlinger, Diane (Kyle) Hawthorne, and Gene (Nancy) Becker; grandchildren: Sheila (Jim) Trost, Sharon (Justin) Ziebell, Mike (special friend Tasha) Allar, Melissa (Mano) Nanez, Steve (Dana) Allar, Mitch (special friend Tisa), Jenna Lulich, Alissa (special friend Jared) Simonson, Jessica Daniel, Craig Renzaglia, Scotti Marie (special friend Chris) Mitchell, Shelby Grimes, Cody Grimes, Paige (Ryan) Schmitt, Erik (Jamie) Becker.
She is further survived by 29 great-grandchildren, her brother John Hahn, and brother-in-laws Morrie Strupp and John Becker, as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Theresa is preceded in death by her parents; husband Eugene Becker; son-in-law Jim Lulich; sisters Ruth Schellinger (Hansen), Helen Sonn, Marilyn Strupp; brothers Paul, Richard, and Jerry Hahn, and Jake Simonson.
The family would like to thank all of the staff at the Tamarack Adult Day Services. They treated her like family and enriched her life by giving her a place to be cared for and active. She looked forward to going every single day and thoroughly enjoyed the friendships and activities provided. In addition, we are grateful for the care given by the staff at Hartford Hospital. She looked forward to physical therapy, always spoke highly of the kitchen staff, and was very pleased with the care she received, especially from Paige, her CNA.
Theresa will be deeply missed and forever cherished. Please share your fondest memories of Theresa as we celebrate her remarkable life.
