Theresa C. Birmingham, 92, of Toms River, NJ, passed away Thursday, September 11, 2025.

Born in San Antonio, TX, she grew up in Harlington and Brownsville, TX. As a military family, they lived in several towns before retiring to Toms River in 1979.

Her passion was cooking. She spent her whole life studying the greatest cooks, and she was as good as any of them. She was a military wife that loved to travel all over the world.

She was predeceased by her husband Daniel Birmingham in 2006.

Theresa is survived by her two children Mark Birmingham of Toms River and Cathy Birmingham and her husband Doug Smithline of Whiting, NJ, a brother Frank Klinger of Texas and a sister Mary Helen Valle of Texas.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Wednesday, September 24, 2025 11:00am at St. Justin the Martyr RC Church, 975 Fischer Blvd, Toms River, NJ 08753. Interment will take place at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals, 995 Fischer Blvd., Toms River, NJ 08753.

In lieu of flowers please donate to The Seeing Eye or the Breakthrough Type 1 Diabetes (Formerly JDRF).
