Theresa Ann "Terry" Denman Burres, lovingly known as "Nana," passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, August 28, 2025. She was born on August 8, 1950, to the late Edward Denman and Catherine Shelton Denman.

Terry Ann was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Melinda Atkins.

A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Terry Ann's greatest joy was her family. She was married to the love of her life, Richard Burres, for 52 years. Together they built a loving home for their children-Paige Stewart (Bruce), Eric Burres (Stephanie), Rick Burres (Jeanette), and Vicky Burres-who were her world. She was a proud and hands-on Nana to her grandchildren Josh (Amber), Amber (Micha), Jeanette, Megan, Nathen, Faith Ann, Christian, and Sidney, and to her five great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings Cindy Denman, Ron Denman (Rhonda);, her sister in laws, Sherry Ashley, Beckey Prince, and Phyllis Campeau, along with a host of nieces, nephews, and many dear friends.

Terry dedicated her life to serving others. She was a lifelong member of Howard Park Christian Church, where she served faithfully as an elder, educational director, and Sunday school teacher. The children she taught adored her, and her faith was the guiding light of her life. She worked for 28 years as a librarian with Jefferson County Public Schools, where she touched countless lives through her love of books and learning. She was also a professional storyteller, delighting audiences with her gift of bringing stories to life. She also had a life long love for horses and enjoyed caring for her two horses, Sammie and Spice.

Those who knew Terry Ann will remember her for her kindness, compassion, and the way she poured love into everyone she met. She fought a good fight and finished her race with grace.

Visitation for Terry will be on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Chapman Funeral Home, 431 West Harrison Avenue, Clarksville, IN. Additional visitation will take place on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service starting at 12 noon at Howard Park Christian Church, 450 North Norwood Avenue, Clarksville, IN., Entombment will be in Kraft Graceland Memorial Park, New Albany, IN 47150

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Howard Park Christian Church or to Southern Care Hospice, who cared for her with great compassion.

Her legacy of love and kindness lives on in all whose lives she touched. In her memory, please do an act of kindness and pass it on.
