Theresa Ann Chayes, age 67, El Paso, Texas.
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Theresa Ann Chayes after a courageous 7 year battle with Multiple Myeloma.
Born in Munich, Germany to Brigitte and Trinidad Reyna, Theresa was proud to call herself an ‘army brat’, being raised on several army bases including in Panama, and finally finding her home in El Paso.
During her 20 year professional career at Merrill Lynch as a Registered Representative Theresa earned her the respect and admiration of her clients and colleagues for her professionalism, charm and calm demeanor.
After retirement, Theresa enjoyed international travels with her husband, Walter, took up cycling with him, and enjoyed visiting her many family members in California.
Theresa also volunteered for the El Paso Opera and El Paso Holocaust Museum, always anxious to give more than she received.
Theresa is survived by Walter, her loving husband of 26 years, her mother Brigitte, her 4 siblings Marie (Jeffrey), Margaret (Frank), Elizabeth (Roberta) and Troy (Pam), as well as many nieces and nephews.
Her Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00pm on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, at Sunset Funeral Homes-West, 480 N. Resler Dr., El Paso, Texas 79912.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the El Paso Holocaust Museum and Study Center.
