Theresa Sharlotte Citterman was born on June 5, 1942 in Hendricks, Minnesota to parents Richard and Vivian (Swedzinski) Popelier. She was Baptized, received First Communion and Confirmation at Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Ivanhoe, MN. She graduated from Ivanhoe Public School.
On October 3, 1960 Theresa was married to her sweetheart, Clemance Citterman. To their union two sons were born, Archie and Mark. Together they farmed in Royal Township while living on the Citterman family farm until 1997 when they built a new home on an acreage from their son, Mark on highway 19 west of Ivanhoe. While their children were growing up she was a stay at home mom and sold Home Interior and Gifts for six and a half years. After moving into their new home she became a manager for Meldisco Shoes and then became the manager for Payless Shoes Source in Marshall. While working there she won many awards and enjoyed working until her retirement in June of 2009.
One of her many hobbies was gardening and was a Master Gardner for 25 years. She loved trying new perennials, growing them from seed. She also loved giving away flower seeds of those same perennials along with many perennial plants. She was a member of the Lincoln County Horticulture Society. She also liked scrapbooking, having done many books for her family. She was the CCW President and taught CCD for many years at St. John Cantius Catholic Church in Wilno. Theresa has four grandchildren, Nathaniel, Morgan, Allison and Jacob. Her time spent with them was known to be the most enjoyable and memorable. Faith and family were the cornerstone of her life.
