Theresa Bowman Cotten was the beloved and first-born daughter of Isaac and Christine Pinckney Bowman. She entered this life on September 14, 1967, in Bronx, New York.
Theresa attended the public schools in New York and graduated from Harry S. Truman High School in 1985. She continued her education and attended Howard University in Washington, DC in their Pre-Med program, where she received a Bachelor of Science degree. She went on to obtain her master's degree in biology from SUNY College. She was employed as Supervising Director at Quest Diagnostics as well as ICON Research Institute of Ireland; and later employed by Labcorp Diagnostics as Director of Acute Care Division, Hospitals and Health System.
Theresa met the love of her life, Harold Cotten, and they were joined in holy matrimony on March 27, 1999. Their union was blessed with twenty-three years of love, devotion to each other, and a host of "step" children and godchildren.
Theresa was preceded in death by her brother, Isaac Bowman Jr.
Theresa leaves to cherish her loving memories a dear, devoted, and loving husband, Harold Cotten; loving children, Tyrell (Wairimu) Cotten, Davaun Lewis Cotten, and Hossanna Regina Cotten; adoring grandchildren, Maya Cotten, Elijah Cotten, Arielle Cotten, Kash Cotton and Skylar Cotten; her loving parents, Isaac and Christine P Bowman; her caring mother-in-law, Lula Mae Cotten; caring sisters-in-law, Mary Beth (Jawanza) Moore, and Stacey (Hayden) Cotten-Victor; a host of uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins, godchildren; and other loving relatives and dear friends, all of whom join the family in sharing the grief caused by her departure but rejoiced that she is now resting with the Lord.
