Theresa Lynn Douthitt

Terri Douthitt, 68, died March 23, 2025 unexpectedly in her home in Eagle River, Alaska. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 29,2023 at 11am at Janssens Funeral Homes Mat-Su location.
Terri was born March 15, 1957 in Monticello, Iowa to E. Ilene Caster and Ralph M. Caster. She married her high school sweetheart Phillip B. Douthitt on December 27, 1975 in Fort Collins, Colorado.
After marrying Phil, Terri supported him during his Military service. During his active duty service, they lived in Aurora, Colorado and Tacoma, Washington. Following Phil's separation from active duty status, the family landed in Nashville, Tennessee before relocating to Fort Collins, CO. While in Ft. Collins, Terri spent her time doing what she loved-taking care of her family. In 1987, she moved to Aurora, CO when Phil was assigned to Buckley Air National Guard Base. At a young age Terri started sewing clothes for her Barbie. This talent for sewing led to her working at SoFro Fabric Store in Fort Collins and Aurora, Colorado where she continued to perfect her abilities in sewing. Terri followed Phil when his career took him to Alaska in 1993. There the family settled in Eagle River, AK where Terri continued to spend her time taking care of her three kids.
Some of Terri's other passions were volunteering and reading. She took this passion and began volunteering in the library at the local elementary school in 1996. This volunteering then led to her working as a library aid at Bartlett High School for several years before moving to the Anchorage School District Library Resources office where Terri worked until her Retirement in 2023.
Terri was content with her life and never needed to be in the limelight. She enjoyed sewing, reading, spending time with her kids and grandkids, staying in touch with family, and being an active member at the Wasilla Church of Christ.
Terri is preceded in death by her husband of 38 years Philip B Douthitt. She is survived by her Son and Daughter-in-law, Jedediah and Theresa A Douthitt of Oklahoma City, OK; Son and Daughter-in-law, Thaddeus and Heather Douthitt of Eagle River, AK (currently stationed in TX); Daughter and Son-in-law, Susanna and Eric Wittrock of Wasilla, AK; her 12 grandchildren; Mother, E. Ilene Caster of Fort Collins, CO; Sister, Cathy Caster of Billings, MO; Sister and Brother-in-law, Debbie and John Duval of Fort Collins,CO and several nieces and nephews.
