Theresa C. (Iven) Huether, age 91, of O’Fallon formerly of Linn, passed away on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, at Ferne Valley Nursing Home in Owensville.
She was born on October 26, 1933, in Linn, a daughter to the late Peter and Agnes (Wegman) Iven. She was a 1952 graduate of Linn High School and a 1955 graduate of DePaul Hospital School of Nursing.
On May 13, 1988, she was united in marriage to the love of her life, Lloyd “Jack” Huether at Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church in Frankenstein. Jack preceded her in death on December 20, 2017.
Theresa was employed as a registered nurse working at various hospitals and nursing homes throughout her career.
She was a member of St. George Catholic Church in Linn.
She enjoyed reading, cooking, making homemade bread, gardening, canning, and fishing. She was known to tell stories and making others laugh. She taught her family to be strong, independent, and to be task orientated.
Theresa is survived by her four children, Catherine (Robert) Ell of St. Paul, Patricia (Kevin) Warren of Hermann, Diana (Frank) Brown of St. Paul and John (Joan) Hayes of Wright City; eleven grandchildren, Rebecca (Nathan) Gaumer, Matthew (Contessa) Ell, Anthony Khatiblou, Mitchell Khatiblou, Luke Brown, Emily Brown, Heather Hayes, Alexander Hayes, Nicholas Hayes and Henry Hayes; seven great-grandchildren, Emma, Drew, Athena, Louis, Natalia, Arthur, and Cayden; along with many nieces, nephews and friends.
In addition to her parents and husband of 29 years, Theresa was preceded in death by a grandson, Andrew Ell, and six brothers, Charles, John, James, Eddie, Leo and Jerome Iven.
Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 27, 2025, at St. George Catholic Church in Linn with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Colin Franklin as the Celebrant. Inurnment will be held in St. George Parish Cemetery.
Expressions of sympathy may be made to Ferne Valley Nursing Home residence support fund.
