Theresa A. Kennedy

Theresa A. Kennedy, age 69, of Philadelphia, PA., passed away at Sunrise of Abington on May 24, 2024. She was born in Philadelphia; daughter of the late Thomas and Anna Marunyak. She grew up in the St. Anns Parrish section of Philadelphia and raised her family in Fishtown before moving to Maryland where she would spend the next 30 years.
She was the loving mother of Amanda Levy ( her husband John), Peter Hinkels, Angela Jackson, and Alissa Kennedy. Theresa will be sadly missed by her ( 13) grandchildren (Brittany Noel (Steve), Danielle Levy, Ryan Shane, Christopher Shane, John Levy Jr, Kylie Shane, Cayden Levy, Danny Hinkels, Amyah Jackson, Marlion Jackson III, the late Devin Jackson, Braylon Jackson and Christian Jackson), sisters Anne Donnelly ( husband, the late Michael), Jane Mooney (her husband Michael), Judith Mellon ( her husband Robert), Her brothers; Thomas Marunyak ( his wife Frances), Michael Marunyak (his wife Barbara) many nieces and nephews, her loyal companion Sadie, and by all who knew her.
Theresa was a retired Zookeeper who's dedication for animals of all kinds was unquestionable. She also worked as the head of Contractor Sales at Lowe's.
She enjoyed life's simple pleasures. She had a passion for Animal Rescue, and Horseback riding. A favorite pastime of hers was hunting and she spent significant time doing that with family in the Pocono Mountains.
Relatives and friends are invited to her Life Celebration, Sunday; June 2nd from 12 noon to 2:00pm at the John F. Givnish Life Celebration Home located at 10975 Academy Road Philadelphia, PA 19154. Following her service the family will gather for a private interment.
