Theresa Lyn Larson

Theresa Lyn Larson, 56, of Rockford passed away unexpectedly February 8, 2023. She was born September 2, 1966, the youngest daughter of Edward and Lily Zurowski. She was a graduate of Jefferson High School. She married Dale Larson March 18, 1989. They have two children Sarah & Christopher. Theresa was a hard worker, they always had to push her out to take any PTO time. She worked at The Capri Restaurant for over 20 years. She had most recently been at Mercy Health for 18 years. When she wasn't working, she was cooking and spending time with her family. Theresa and Dale had celebrated 39 amazing years together. Christopher was her pride and joy. She loved teaching him how to cook. She enjoyed attending and watching weekly dart games. She was Sarah's biggest cheerleader. The day she became a Nana, it was all about Layten. She was always showing him off and so proud of anything and everything he did. She even gained a bonus daughter along the way. She loved Rachel like her own, she even gave her a second grandson Braylon that she loved just as much. Theresa was the life of the party and lit up every room she was in. She will be greatly missed from her contagious laugh, sassy personality, and unconditional love she gave.
She is survived by husband of 34 amazing years, Dale Larson; daughter, Sarah (Chris) Smythe; son, Christopher Larson; grandson, Layten Larson Smythe; mother, Lily Zurowski; brothers, Edward Zurowski, Jr. and Michael Zurowski; sisters, Cindy (Dan) Dunn, Christy (Eddie) Martin; nieces and nephews, Jordan (Alyssa) Zurowski, Eve Dunn, Michael (Ally) Martin, Melissa (Adam) Foerster; great niece, Ryleigh; bonus daughter, Rachel (Bobby) McKee; and bonus grandson, Braylon. She is reunited with her amazing father, Edward Zurowski, Sr. and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM Friday, February 17, 2023 in Honquest Family Funeral Home with Crematory - Mulford Chapel, 4311 N. Mulford Road, Loves Park and again from 10:00 AM Saturday, February 18, 2023 followed immediately by a funeral service by 11:00 AM in the funeral home.
