Theresa Meyers Lucas

Theresa Meyers Lucas was born Theresa Cecile Meyers on January 16th, 1948 to Odele and Ovide Meyers of Ponchatoula, Louisiana. She was a life long resident of Ponchatoula and loved the town and the surrounding communities dearly. On July 9th, 2022 at the age of 74, she earned her angel wings and guardian angel status to watch over all of us who knew and loved her dearly. She will forever be missed by all of us who knew her until we meet again. She spent many years as a Beautician working from her little shop at home. Once she transitioned from being a Beautician full time she went on to work as a Secretary/Office manager for Security Plan insurance until Retirement. She also volunteered for many years as secretary and treasurer for Dixie Youth Baseball in Ponchatoula. She loved watching the children play baseball and reveled in seeing the smiles on their faces. Theresa was preceded in death by her husband Thomas Albert Lucas, mother Odele Meyers, father Ovide Meyers, Mother-in-law Dolly Lucas, sister Lona Chapman, Brother Lionel (LJ) Meyers, sister Helen Drury, Sister-in-law Linda Meyers, Brother-in-law Dennis Drott and nephew Eric (Peanut) Drury. She is survived by her son Thomas Wagner Lucas, Daughter-in-law Catherine Lucas, Grand children Allison Lucas, Kate Lucas and Benjamin Lucas, sisters Edna Ott (Dale) and JoAnn Drott (Dennis), sister-in-law Dona Meyers (Lionel), sister-in-law Jackie Poche (Bryant), brother-in-law Bruce Drury Sr. (Helen), special Nieces Terry Parent and Denise Parent (to whom she was guardian), numerous nieces and nephews, as well as life long dear friend Alice Brown Smith whom she thought of as a sister. Services will be for Family and close Friends only (per her request), at Ponchatoula Cemetery on Friday July 22nd at 10AM.
