Theresa "Terry" (Amato) Maffucci, 97, of Wethersfield, beloved wife of the late Bernard "Bernie" Maffucci, peacefully went to meet her heavenly Father on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, with her family by her side. Theresa was a lifelong communicant of the Catholic church, most recently the Church of the Incarnation. Born in Hartford, CT, she was the daughter of the late Antonio and Rosaria Amato. Theresa attended Mount St. Joseph Academy in West Hartford and was a resident of Wethersfield for 62 years. She was employed at GMAC as a bookkeeper, where she met her husband, Bernie. Theresa also worked as a bookkeeper at New England Calendar, a hostess at Valle's Steak House and ran an executive dining facility at the Aetna for a short time before her retirement. She enjoyed traveling to her home country of Italy many times with family and friends and was a huge UCONN Women's basketball fan. She never missed watching a UCONN Women's basketball game with Bernie, her children or her grandchildren. Theresa's greatest joy was her family to whom she was devoted.
Theresa is survived by her children, Mary VanDerLinden and husband Clinton, Sarah Fournier and husband Paul, James Maffucci and wife Tina, Michael Maffucci and wife Kate, Rosanne Maffucci and significant other Ed Escribano, John Maffucci and significant other Tammy Lucier; her grandchildren, C.J. VanDerLinden and wife Kaitlin, Stephanie Boudrow and husband Phil, Samantha Fournier, Susan and husband Vinny Errico, Adrianna and Isabella Maffucci, Alex Maffucci, Christina Deprey and husband Dustin, Amanda Cefaratti and Sean Maffucci; her great-grandchildren, Carter, Abbie and Leah Errico, Ella Deprey and Daphne Boudrow. Theresa was also blessed with many special nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, she was predeceased by her grandson Max Maffucci; her brothers Anthony and Joseph; and her sister Julia. Thanks to the amazing staff and caregivers at Jefferson House for their outstanding and compassionate care! "High as the Sky"

I remember Nonny as my sister, Linda's, beloved mother-in-law. She had a gracious, welcoming, motherly presence, always ready with a smile and encouraging words. Love was her essence, as were courage and devotion. What a treasure to all who knew her. God bless her. My sincere condolences to her family and dear ones.

Hugs to you all. I know how tightly you will pull together these next days and share so many wonderful memories and stories. The beauty of your family is that you will find comfort in sharing them. That will always be your strength and that is the greatest gift she has left you. Your in our hearts and prayers.

Terry lived across the street from me for years. I loved talking to her. She always reminded me of my mom. She was one of the sweetest people that I have ever met. I will miss our conversations so much. But now she is at peace and has united with her husband and her beloved grandson Max.
