Theresa W. McNemar, 73, of Mullica Hill, formerly of Voorhees, left this world on September 28, 2024, at Samaritan Hospice in Voorhees, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on December 13, 1950, in Abington, PA, Theresa's life was a testament to her thoughtful nature and her unwavering spirit.
Theresa grew up in a loving family and was predeceased by her parents, James A. and Julia Walsh. Her memory will be cherished and kept alive by her devoted son, Jesse McNemar, and his wife Heather; her adored grandchildren, Hunter, Declan, and Autumn; her caring sisters, Margaret Humphries and Julie Jerman, and her husband, Fred; her brother, John Walsh, and his wife, Kathy; her nieces, Christina Walsh, Sarah Humphries-Fowler, Amy Neptune and Lauren Mariner; and her nephew, Matthew Jerman. She was also survived by other members of the Walsh and McCartney families.
A proud alumna of Carnegie Mellon University, Theresa graduated with a bachelor's degree in fine arts, which paved the way for her remarkable career. She was not only a local business owner of a tour bus company for over 30 years but also an accomplished, award-winning artist and painter. Her talent was sought after, with many of her artworks being commissioned. Additionally, her creativity graced the city as she was known for her mural artistry through Philadelphia Cares.
Theresa's interests reflected the richness of her character. She was a pillar of the community, a parishioner of Holy Eucharist Church in Cherry Hill, and her strong faith was a source of comfort and strength throughout her life, especially during her battle with cancer. Her home was a hub of warmth and love, not just for her son Jesse but for all the children in the neighborhood. Theresa's generosity knew no bounds; her door was always open, and her kitchen was the heart of her home, where she shared her passion for cooking with those she loved.
Her love for her family was paralleled only by her love for travel. Theresa's trips to Paris and Italy were among her most cherished experiences, allowing her to immerse herself in the cultures she adored. Her compassion reached far beyond her immediate circle, as evidenced by her commitment to donating to many charities over the years.
Those who knew Theresa will remember her for the kindness she extended to everyone she met. She was a selfless individual who always put others before herself, and her thoughtful gestures brought comfort and joy to many. Her legacy is one of love, art, and community service, and her memory will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her.
Visitation will be from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, on Thursday, October 3, 2024, at Holy Eucharist Church, 344 Kresson Rd, Cherry Hill, NJ 08034. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 am, at the church. Burial will take place on Friday, October 4, 2024, at 11:00 am, at Whitemarsh Memorial Park, 1169 Limekiln Pike, Ambler, PA 19002.
