Brimfield: Theresa G. (Rondeau) Proulx, 96, passed away on December 15th in her home after a brief illness.
She leaves her son, Bruce Proulx of Southbridge; daughters, Cheryl Green and her husband David of Brimfield and Michelle Proulx of Southbridge; her son-in-law, Robert Petraw of Southbridge; her step-daughter, Sueann Caouette of Southbridge; loving cousin Richard Vincent of Charlton; her 6 grandchildren, Andrea Green, Justin Proulx, Brennan Green, Joshua Proulx, Aaron Proulx, Joseph Green.
Theresa was predeceased by her daughter Joan in 1956. Her Husband Gerard A. Proulx passed away in 1983 and her longtime companion Albert Caouette in 2000, as well as her sisters Marie Rogers and Jeannette Gilbert.
Theresa was born in Pawtucket, RI and raised in Saint-Zenon Quebec, Canada, the daughter of Philippe and Cea (LaPlante) Rondeau.
She came to the United States in 1948. She was employed at American Optical and later retired from Plasticom in Southbridge after 20 years.
Theresa was a devout Catholic. She had a passion for sewing and was a great seamstress. She would always be happy to go shopping; it didn't matter what she was shopping for. Theresa enjoyed playing bingo, cards, and attending outdoor concerts. Some of her favorite times were spent with her cousin Richard and his wife Jean traveling the US and Canada in their RV. Above all else she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff at Care Central VNA & Hospice for their compassionate care during Theresa's final days.
Her funeral mass will be held on Friday, Jan. 3rd, at 10:00am, in St. Christopher's Catholic Church, 16 Sturbridge Rd., Brimfield, MA. Burial will follow at New Notre Dame Cemetery in Southbridge. There are no calling hours.
Daniel T. Morrill Funeral Home, 130 Hamilton St., Southbridge is directing the arrangements.
