Theresa Robinson, age 74, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday morning, October 5, 2025. Just days earlier, she and her husband, Reed Robinson, celebrated their 29th wedding anniversary, a reflection of their steady and enduring companionship.
Theresa was a quiet and thoughtful woman who found comfort in simple joys and meaningful routines. She worked hard throughout her life, including years at Hercules helping to build rocket motors, and later at The Cotton Shop, a fabric store that perfectly suited her love of sewing and creativity.
She had a lifelong passion for sewing and spent many hours crafting, crocheting, and making blankets that she often shared with others. Her generosity also extended to charitable giving, supporting causes such as the MS Society, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, UNICEF, and the Humane Society of Utah.
Theresa loved spending time outdoors and found peace in hiking and traveling, often accompanied by her rescued dogs, Sally, Sammie, and Daisy, who were her loyal companions and brought her great comfort and joy.
Her life was deeply shaped by love and loss. The passing of her only son, Marcel Martinez, in 2014 was a heartbreak she carried with quiet strength. Those who knew her will remember her resilience and the gentle ways she showed she cared.
Theresa is survived by her husband, Reed Robinson; father, Jose Martinez; stepson Bart Robinson (Dana Moore); stepdaughter Leesa Gillespie (Edgil Gillespie); grandsons Marcus Martinez, Mathew Robinson, William Gillespie, Garrett Gillespie, Brendan Robinson, and Christopher Gillespie, and granddaughters Rachel Gillespie and Clara Robinson; sister Victoria Chadwick; and niece and nephews Jesika Chavez-England, Matthew Chavez, and Michael Chadwick.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Frances Martinez; her son, Marcel Martinez; her brothers, Mark and Jerry Martinez; and her beloved dogs Sally, Sammie, and Daisy.
A viewing will be held Friday October 17, 2025, at 10:00 a.m., followed by a graveside service and interment at 11:00 a.m. at Memorial Mountain View Cemetery, 3115 East 7800 South, Cottonwood Heights, Utah.
Theresa will be remembered for her quiet strength, her creativity, her love of nature, and the gentle ways she showed she cared.
