Theresa Ruby

RUBY, THERESA CORONADO of Rochester Hills; passed away on Thursday, March 14, 2024. She was born on December 12, 1956 in Highland Park, Michigan to parents Jose Angel Coronado and Juanita Frances Lopez. Theresa was a creative artist in stained glass, mosaics, beading and other mediums. She was also an avid gardener and owned and operated Always Stained Glass in Auburn Hills, where she taught classes in the store and at several local community education programs. She was a loving daughter, sister, tia (Spanish for aunt), wife of 40 plus years, a compassionate friend and overall wonderful person. Her husband, Gary, admired and appreciated Theresa as a partner, guide, teacher and best friend. Theresa was predeceased by her parents. She is survived by her husband, Gary Ruby, and six siblings: Jose Tito (late Julie), Francisco "Frank" (Karen), Pauline, Adelita "Lita" Carpenter, Raoul "Lou" (Cheryl) and Veronica. Also survived by nieces and nephews: Angelena (Joseph) Riggs, Christopher, Alanna (Matt) Honkanen, Joseph (D'Andra) Saferian, Andrea, Aaron (Dana), Kristian (Genevieve), Joshua (Nicole) Lohrman, Richard (Jamie) Saferian, Jason Gueli, Rachel (Sean) Kelly, Josephina (Timothy) Dinverno, Catherine, Tyler Lohrman, step nieces and nephew Austen Bradford, Rachel (Douglas) Diebel Bayne, the late Ryan Diebel and numerous grand nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, March 18, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at the Riverside Chapel, Simpson-Modetz Funeral Home, 5630 Pontiac Lake Road, Waterford. The family will receive friends on Sunday at the funeral home from 12 noon until 4 p.m., and on Monday from 10 a.m. until time of service. Burial will be at The Preserve, the green and natural burial section of All Saints Cemetery, 4401 Nelsey Road, Waterford. The Preserve is a natural setting. All those attending the burial are invited to dress accordingly. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the National Kidney Foundation or the American Heart Association.
