Theuang Vongsa, age 76 passed away at her residence surrounded by her family on Sunday, May 5, 2024. She was born in Laos on February 3, 1948 to the late Loth and Chen (Le) Khounsamathong.
Theuang was employed as a hotel accountant when residing in Vientiene, Laos. After immigrating to the United States in 1980, she worked as a housekeeper at the Pioneer Inn then as a seamstress at OshKosh B’gosh. Theuang continued her employment as a custodian at UW-Oshkosh until she retired. Theuang was a devoted wife of 57 years, committed mother and doting grandmother. Theuang was very close to her siblings and extended family members who also immigrated to the United States, France, Spain and elsewhere.
Theuang enjoyed cooking, knitting/crocheting, gardening, doing word searches, playing solitaire and entertaining her many grandchildren.
Theuang is survived by her husband Soulath; her children, daughter Souphalack “Souphi”, son Sourasack “Kit” (Becky) and daughter Soudasavanh “Souda”. Theuang will also be fondly remembered by her four grandchildren, Elijah, Ava, Zander and Tayson. Theuang is also survived by her siblings, brother Ket (Tieng), brother Khamsey (Kham) and sister Soukaseum along with many more extended family members.
A service for Theuang will be held at Algoma United Methodist Church on Saturday, May 11, 2024, at 2PM. A visitation will be held from noon until the time of service. A burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery. Luncheon will be provided after the burial at the Algoma United Methodist Church.
