Thomas Ales Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Kessler Fahrenkrug Funeral Home - Neenah on Oct. 17, 2022.
On the afternoon of Thursday, October 13, 2022, Thomas M. Ales Jr. of Winchester, WI passed away at the age of 77.
Tom was born to Tom and Mary Ales in 1945. He received his bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1967 and was employed at Kimberly-Clark in Neenah for 32 years. In August of 1965, he married Darlene Pritzl, and together raised three children, Tracey, Tammy, and Tommy.
Tom began his career at Kimberly-Clark as a mechanical engineer and retired in August of 2001 as a Director of Engineering with the Child Care department. During his career, Tom managed the manufacturing aspects of what became a "new to the world" product, a disposable training pant known as Pull-Ups training pants.
Tom was an avid mechanic and collector of muscle cars in his spare time. When he wasn't working, he was drag racing at Wisconsin International Raceway. He started as a crew chief for his best friend Gary Lenius and later became the driver. After driving for years, he returned to chief mechanic for his daughter, Tracey, and grandchildren Morgan and Jensen, as they continued to engage in weekly drag races.
Tom was known for his attention to detail and, work ethic, quick wit and, laugh out loud humor.
Tom is preceded in death by his father (Thomas M. Ales, Sr.), his mother (Mary VanderWalker) and sister (Patricia Geibel). He is survived by his wife, Darlene Ales, his three children, Tracey Rymer (Tim), Tammy Howe and Tommy Ales III, and his grandchildren, Adam Howe, Amanda Barr (Joe), Kurt Jarvi (Elizabeth), Morgan Ortega (Victor), Jensen Rymer and his nephews, Tony Dietz (Pam) & Tim Dietz (JoAnna).
A public memorial service will be held at Kessler-Fahrenkrug Funeral Home, 304 S. Commercial St., Neenah on Friday, October 28th, 2022. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. with a service from 12:30 until 1:00 PM.
