Thomas Ray Anderson was one of nine children born to Wilburn Ray and Evelyn Pearl (Smith) Anderson. He was born in Dent County, Missouri, on February 26, 1937. He passed away on July 23, 2025, in St. Louis, Missouri, at the age of eighty-eight years. Tom graduated from Salem High School and at the age of nineteen moved to St. Louis, Missouri, to start his working career as a journeyman electrician. He worked for McDonnell Douglas for nearly forty years. He was a hard worker and was an excellent provider for his family. Tom was united in marriage to Melba Gentile and to this union blessed with two daughters: Diana and Lisa. Tom later married Carol and shared forty-two years of memories before her passing in 2016. Tom enjoyed the simple things in life and could often be found outdoors in his garden. You usually seen him with a cup of coffee or cigarette in his hand. His faith, family, and friends were most important to him, when his daughter, Diana, travelled, he would follow along with his atlas and looked forward to seeing her pictures once she returned. Those left behind to cherish his memory include his daughters: Diana Anderson of Winfield, MO and Lisa Anderson of Bowling Green, MO; brothers: Eugene Anderson and wife Judy, and Ronnie Anderson and wife Tressia; sisters: Margaret Anderson, and Carolyn Conaway and husband Junior; as well as several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends. Preceding him in death were his wife: Carol Anderson; parents: Wilburn and Evelyn (Smith) Anderson; infant brother: James Wesley Anderson; brother: Mike Anderson; and sisters: Melba Hughes, Betty Gorman, and Beverley Morris. Tom will be deeply missed by those who loved him most. Funeral Services for Thomas Ray Anderson were held Monday, July 28, 2025, in the Wilson Mortuary Salem Chapel with Pastor Jim Privett officiating. Song selections played were "How Great Thou Art" and "In The Sweet By And By". Serving as Pallbearers were Stanley Anderson, Steve Anderson, Matt Anderson, Rodger Anderson, Rommel Cowan, and Scott Shults. Burial was in the Corinth Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Wilson Mortuary of Salem, Missouri. Memorial Contributions may be made in memory of Thomas Anderson to the Corinth Cemetery Fund and left with Wilson Mortuary. Memorial Envelopes will be available. Condolences may be left online at www.wilsonmortuary.com

Tom was my Stepdad for over 50 years. When he married my Mom, Carol he welcomed 3 kids and our grandparents into the family with open arms. Just a few years later, Tom walked down the aisle with my Mom and brother, Ed as I became married to Dave. When our daughter Melissa was born, Tom was smitten with her and enjoyed every bit of time they spent together. We treasure the good memories of our stepfather, father-in-law, grandfather and great grandfather. He loved his Lord. He loved his family. And we loved him.
After every visit, Tom and Mom would look out the kitchen window and wave goodbye as we drove away. Today I wave a final goodbye from this earth to Tom in the arms of the Lord.

Tom became my stepdad over 50 years ago when he married my mom, Carol. We became a family of 7(with one bathroom). He gained a son-in-law just a few years later and became a grandpa (Papaw) just a few years after that. He bought the house next door and remodeled it so my grandparents could move closer as they were aging. So kind. He was so proud of his great grandchildren when they came along. He loved his family, loved his Lord, and loved spending time connected with God's green earth. He will be missed here, but he's with Mom now and with his Lord. He would always look out the window and say, "Nothing much going on around here". I imagine he has a lot to talk about now.
"Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints." Psalm 116:15 (King James Version- the only true version, according to Tom ;)

I remember being in the back yard playing with the dogs Heidi and Beau and papaw. We had fun playing with them. Papaw and I always had long talks in the basement of the house or out in the car port smoking together. He always had great advice for me when I needed it. He was always so supportive of me. He never let me down. I remember when they had the station wagon and I always love sitting in the back of it because you could face backwards and he was always a gentleman because he would always let me out and hold out his hand for his little granddaughter to climb out the back of the station wagon. I'm going to miss him so much. He was a wonderful man and a wonderful grandfather. I love you and miss you!
