Thomas Wayne Baird, 85, of Clarksburg (Conemaugh Township), passed away on Monday, September 29, 2025 in Heritage Grove at Indiana, Indiana, PA.

Born May 11, 1940 in Johnstown, he was a son of the late Thomas William Baird and Bessie (Shetler) Baird.

Tom was a graduate of Bolivar High School and proudly served our country with the United States Army. During his time in the military that Tom found an interest as a surveyor, and took classes towards that goal. Tom's career as a surveyor started with the State of Pennsylvania, and he later worked at Trumball Corporation, Canterbury Coal, and retired from Dick Corporation.

He loved working outside, including taking care of his fruit trees, plants, and gardening.

In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Grace (Emanuel) Baird, who passed away on May 30, 2008; and his sister, Cleo McClure.

Tom is survived by his sons, Jeffrey (Jackie) Baird of Ebensburg, Stephen Baird of Greensburg; granddaughters, Jordan Baird of Pittsburgh, Julia (fiancé Kerry Snyder) Baird of Pittsburgh; sister, Darlene Mehalic of Tennessee; as well as nieces and nephews.

At the request of the family, all services are private, and have been entrusted to the Curran Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Saltsburg. Interment in Edgewood Cemetery, Saltsburg, with military honors accorded by the Saltsburg American Legion Honor Guard will be held at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be offered in Tom's memory to the Disabled American Veterans, 1000 Liberty Ave., Suite #1606, Pittsburgh, PA 15222.
