Thomas Lee Bond Sr., beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend passed away suddenly when his cancer went to the brain, on his birthday, July 19, 2025, at the age of 77.

Thomas Sr. and his wife, Evelyn, would have celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary on July 26, 2025. They were members and married at Zion Lutheran Church in Cloquet. Tom Sr. and Evelyn have two children, Tina (maried to Dana Jensen of Sioux Falls, South Dakota), and Thomas Jr. (married to Jackie Riffle of Cloquet, Minnesota).

Tom worked at Diamond Match in Cloquet for over 25 years. He loved bowling, fishing, camping, playing cards, cribbage clubs, darts, and bingo. Tom enjoyed and assisted his wife, Evelyn, decorating the front yard with different types of statues. They made many road trips across United States including their honeymoon in Niagara Falls, New York.

Tom Sr. was preceded in death by daughter, Tina; his parents, Lora Jane and Hilbert Bond; sister, Pearl Hart; and brothers, David Bond, Leroy Bond, and James Bond. Tom Sr. is survived by his wife, Evelyn; son, Thomas Bond Jr. (Jacqueline Riffle); sisters, Rose Ehlers, Ruther Larson, Alice Marsyla, and Shirley Granholm; and brother, Delbert Bond.

Tom's love for his family shone brightly in his role as grandfather to Erikka Smith, Kirja and Audun Jensen; great-grandfather to Laykyn Thomas Smith, brand new baby boy Coltyn Thomas Smith, Andor Jensen, and Kingston Armini Jensen.

The family wishes to thank all of Tom's caregivers who helped him through his illness. The hospice staff were exceptional during the last few days of his life and did everything they could to make him as comfortable as possible.

Services in Tom's honor will be held Thursday, July 31, 2025, at Zion Lutheran Church in Cloquet. Visitation will begin at 12:00 Noon and continue until the 1:00 P.M. memorial service with reception to follow at the church.
