Thomas Bruce Obituary

Tom was an electrician in Detroit for over 40 years. He enjoyed listening to and playing music, and was a Cantor in the choir at Our Lady of La Salette Church. He also loved to go camping and completing projects for his family. He could fix anything and was always cracking a joke. A loving husband, father, and grandfather, Tom will be dearly missed.
He is survived by his wife Laurie; his daughters, Sarah Bruce-Damore, Katherine (Jon) VanBrocklin, Emily (Richard) Schlanderer, and Jennifer (Benjamin) Foster; sister, Mary Bruce; grandchildren, Alice, Jon, Richard, Harrison, and Jack; and many other loving family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Robert Bruce, Suzanne Bruce, Richard Bruce; and son-in-law, Eric Damore.
The family will receive guests Monday from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Sawyer-Fuller Funeral Home, 2125 12 Mile Road, Berkley (two blocks west of Woodward Avenue). A scripture service will be at 7:00 PM during the visiting hours at the funeral home.
Mr. Bruce will lie in state on Tuesday from 10:30 AM until the time of Mass 11:00 AM at Our Lady of La Salette Church, 2600 Harvard Road, Berkley (1/4 mile North of 11 Mile Road).
