Thomas John Cichowski, aged 72, of Reese, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 28, 2025, at Covenant Hospital in Saginaw surrounded by his family. Born on September 16, 1952, in Saginaw, Michigan, he was the cherished son of the late Aloysius "Chick" and Ann (Yaruczewski) Cichowski. A proud graduate of Arthur Hill High School in 1970, Tom furthered his education at Delta College, where he completed his apprenticeship and embarked on a successful career as an electrician.
On January 16, 1971, Tom married his wife, the former Lori Dinninger, in Saginaw. Together they raised four children. Lori survives him. For 36 years, Tom was a respected electrician with General Motors, working at Grey Iron and Nodular Iron plants until his well-deserved retirement. Tom's passion for his trade was matched only by his love for gardening, playing cards with his friends at the Rocket, his dogs, and his unwavering support for the Detroit Tigers, the Detroit Lions, and University of Michigan football.
Tom's legacy is carried on by his devoted wife of 54 years, Lori, and their four children and their spouses: Dan Cichowski, Jennifer (Josh) Coulter, Becki (Steve) Anderson, and Tyler Cichowski (Andrew Thede). He was a proud grandfather to Michael, Noah, and Angela Cichowski; Mackenzie and Madeline Coulter; Emily (Tommy) Papesh; and Luke, Carter, Jace, and Ryder Anderson. Each grandchild held a special place in his heart, and he cherished every moment spent with them.
He is also survived by his loving sister, Vicky (Don) Lawson; sister-in-law, Pam Moran and brother-in-law, Donald (Bonnie) Dinninger; many nieces and nephews; and his beloved dogs, Zoey and Summit, who brought him immense joy and companionship. Tom was predeceased by an infant son, Aaron Thomas, his grandson, Levi Anderson, and his brother-in-law, Ken Moran.
Tom's life was a testament to the power of hard work, the joy of simple pleasures, and his impact on the lives he touched will be felt for generations to come.
Cremation has taken place, and a private celebration of Tom's life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the family wishes, in care of his wife, Lori.
All of us at Ware Smith Woolever are honored that the Cichowski family has entrusted us with the care of their loved one.
