Thomas A. Crall, 50, of West Des Moines, passed away unexpectedly on September 1, 2025.
Tom was born in Des Moines on April 25, 1975, to Tom and Kathleen (Kearney) Crall. He graduated from Dowling High School and Des Moines Area Community College. Tom spent his professional career as a valued leader at Hy-Vee. He was a longtime produce leader and retail expert, currently working as the Category Manager of Produce. Tom began his career at Hy-Vee in 1991 at the Urbandale store.
Tom was also an avid sports fan especially of the Iowa Hawkeyes. The biggest part of his life, though, was his love for his beautiful family and large network of friends that were family to him, too.
Tom is survived by his wife, Kristi (Torry); children, Taylor, Kaylin, and Chloe Crall; mother, Kathleen Crall; sister, Mindy Bjork (Bryan); brother, Matt Crall (Kate), mother-in-law, Diana Torry, father-in-law, Bob Torry, brother-in-law, Rob Torry (Ann); and sister-in-law, Jennifer Hill (Ty). He also dearly loved and is survived by nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and a large extended family, as well as many friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas M. Crall, and his grandparents.
A visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 10, 2025 at Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home in Urbandale with a vigil service and time of sharing starting at 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, September 11, 2025 at St. Pius X Catholic Church. Burial will follow in the Resthaven Cemetery with a luncheon to follow at St. Pius. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family for a future designation.
