In Loving Memory of Thomas James DiMicelli
Beloved husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend
1954 – 2025
With deep love and heavy hearts, we share that Thomas James DiMicelli, age 71, of Four Seasons Adult community has passed into God's hands . He was home in the loving care of his family in his much loved Four Seasones Adult community...
Tom was the kind of man who didn't need to speak loudly to make an impact. His kindness was steady, his presence grounding, and his love for family unwavering. He lived a life full of purpose, built not just on career or achievements, but on the quiet strength of showing up - day after day - for the people he loved.
Born in Elmwood Park, New Jersey, Tom was the cherished son of Emily and Thomas DiMicelli, and a proud graduate of St. Leo's Grammar School, Elmwood Park High School, and William Paterson College, where he earned a degree in Business in 1977. It was there, in a moment of fate, he met Patricia Reid, the love of his life. They married in 1979, and their love story - filled with deep friendship, mutual respect, and unwavering devotion - spanned over 45 years.
Tom spent more than three decades building a respected career in insurance, working as a claims supervisor and workers' compensation professional for Royal Insurance and later Allstate. His work ethic, honesty, and compassion touched many - but his truest legacy was always at home.
Tom and Patty raised their family in
Toms River, NJ, where Tom became known not only as a dedicated father but as a quiet hero to his two sons, Peter and Stephen. He found peace on the water - fishing, boating, and teaching his boys to love the ocean as he did. His pontoon boat rides, often filled with laughter and quiet conversations, were sacred moments he cherished deeply.
In 2020, Tom, Patty, and their son Peter moved to the Four Seasons community in Lakewood, where he embraced the beauty of retirement - slower mornings, peaceful walks, and time with family. He especially loved dancing with Patricia and Lee Ann at the many wonderful parties at Four Seasons, sharing laughter and joy with close friends. Those nights - full of music, movement, and connection - reflected the heart of the man he was: joyful, present, and full of life.
Tom is deeply loved and will be forever remembered by his wife Patricia, his sons Peter Thomas and Stephen, his daughter-in-law Megan, and his mother Emily. He is also survived by his siblings: James DiMicelli and wife Magdalen, Lee Ann DiMicelli Schisani, and Lisa Morales and husband Martin Morales. He was a devoted uncle to Jake, Jared, Jeremy, Matthew, and Amanda, and a dear cousin to Tommy Richmond and Mike Somers.
He is preceded in death by his father, Thomas DiMicelli, and his brother-in-law, Joseph Schisani.
Tom was the kind of person who gave more than he took. His joy was found in the everyday - a good meal, a ride on the water, dancing under the stars, or laughing with friends. He was humble, deeply good, and always present when you needed him. To know him was to feel safe. To be loved by him was a gift beyond measure.
Funeral arrangements will be announced at a later date. Make time for your loved ones , hold them close. Family and friends was what Tom put first in a life well lived.
