Thomas F. Dokes III

A celebration of life for Thomas F. Dokes, III, 94, of Anniston, will be held, Thursday, August 14, 2025, at 1:00pm at Rising Star United Methodist Church in Hobson City. Interment will be in Forestlawn Gardens. A public viewing was held on today, Wednesday, August 13, 2025, from 3pm-7pm at the funeral home. Professional services entrusted to S.M. Goodson Funeral Home-Anniston. Mr. Thomas F. Dokes, III, a beloved father and grandfather, was born in Anniston, Alabama on February 17, 1931, to the late Thomas and Jilispah Dokes. At an early age, he accepted Christ as his savior and united with the Rising Star United Methodist Church where he served faithfully. Thomas graduated from Calhoun County Training School and later attended Alabama State University, where he showcased his talents on the football field and continued to support throughout the years. Thomas Dokes enjoyed a fulfilling career with Parker-Hannifan for many years until he retired. He served his community as member of the Hobson City Housing Authority Board. In his spare time, Thomas spent many hours golfing and cheering for his favorite team, the Alabama Crimson Tide. On Monday, August 4, 2025, Thomas F. Dokes, III, surrounded by loved ones, completed his earthly journey and entered eternal rest. Mr. Dokes leaves loving memories to forever be cherished by his children, Vickie Bolton, Thomas F. Dokes, IV, Sebastian (Vanessa) Dokes, Cheryl (Terry) Newton, Jacquelyn (Artis) Dokes-Clayton, and Michael Williams; grandchildren, Brandon Bolton, Jaimie Bolton, Anthony Dokes, Jovan Dokes, Katiea Dokes, Tenille Dokes, Timberly Dokes, Terri Dokes, Emanuel (Erin) Clayton, Joshua (Eva) Clayton, Zachary Clayton, Mechelle Daniels, Davara Howard, Xanthia Bolton-Bradford, Kourtney Bradford, Autumn Robinson, Brycen Weems, London Dokes, Isreal Dokes, Treyvion Hall, Tristian Hall, Ciara Clayton, Elijah Clayton, Jayden Clayton, and Armani Clayton; sisters, Mattie Dokes-Boggus and Edwerta Liss-Dokes; and a host of other relatives and friends. Though our hearts ache at his departure, let us remember Thomas F. Dokes III with a smile, recalling the joy he spread among us and celebrate a life well-lived and a soul well-loved. S.M.
