Thomas ‘Tom’ Doucette, 87, a long-time resident of Foxboro, formerly of Hyde Park, passed away peacefully on Tuesday January 21, 2025 surrounded by his loving wife of 62 years, Mary (Madden) Doucette and his loving family at Newton Wellesley Hospital.
Tom leaves his two sons, Thomas F. Doucette and his wife Dr. Margaret Lubert-Doucette of Knoxville, TN and their two sons J.T. and Patrick and his wife Bailey; Andrew Doucette and his wife Andrea of Millbury, MA and their son Anthony and daughter Adreanna; brother Philip Doucette and his wife Shirley of Florida; brother-in-law William Madden of RI and sister-in-law Anne Curley and her husband Robert (Bob) of Bellingham.
Tom graduated from Boston Technical High School and Northeastern University, where he received his degree in Civil Engineering. Post graduation Tom joined the United States Army where he proudly served and was honorably discharged as an Officer 1st Lieutenant. Tom had a 40-year career as a Civil Engineer for the Commonwealth of MA and State of RI.
Tom was an avid Patriots fan and was one of the oldest season ticket holders since 1960. He never missed a game, and ensured he was at every last game of the past season.
Tom was a devoted family man and proud father and grandfather. Tom loved watching his grandson’s JT & Paddy football games and watching both Anthony and Adreanna playing hockey. His proudest moment prior to his passing was watching Adreanna win her first collegiate hockey game including her first shutout. Tom’s proudness never went unnoticed while talking with friends, family, the nurses and Doctors that took such great care of him.
Tom is pre-deceased by his brother Oliver and sister Marian Rhea, brother-in-law John ‘Jack’ Madden and sister-in-law Lisa Madden.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend Tom's Life Celebration on Sunday, January 26th, 2025, from 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm at the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home, 48 Common Street, Walpole. Funeral Home Service will follow at 3:00 and interment will take place privately.
