Thomas Joseph "TJ" Duffy, Jr., 33, passed away on Monday, December 5 after complications caused by a congenital condition. Born in Columbus, OH on December 17, 1988 to Thomas Duffy and Anne (Frericks) Lamone.
Preceded in death by maternal grandparents Edward and Patricia Frericks and paternal grandparents Judge John C. and Betty Duffy. Survived by wife Jenni (Bucher), daughters Brinley and Charlotte, parents Thomas Duffy (Michael Luy) and Anne and Brad Lamone, brother and sister-in-law John and Mallory Duffy, stepbrothers Dan and Kyle (Kristi) Lamone, father-in-law and mother-in-law Carl and Jane (Melaragno) Bucher, brothers-in law and sisters-in-law Jason and Christine, Jeremy and Alexa, and Justin and Brianna Bucher, nieces Hannah Brady and Lily Bucher, dozens of aunts and uncles, a multitude of precious cousins and many dear friends, especially his lifelong best friends Jack Nordholt and Nick Logan.
TJ attended grade school at Immaculate Conception, graduated from Bishop Watterson High School ('07) where he played lacrosse and football, and earned a Bachelor's Degree from Union College in Cincinnati.
To say TJ lived life to the fullest would be an understatement. He was a wonderful son, husband, brother, father, godfather, and friend. He was the life of the party and his bright blue eyes and big smile lit up any room he entered. His sense of humor and carefree attitude made him so unique. TJ found joy and happiness in just about everything, but becoming a husband and a dad were his greatest accomplishments and biggest blessings. In lieu of flowers, his family is asking for contributions to be made to support the two biggest joys of TJ's life, Brinley and Charley. To donate, visit https://gofund.me/8251c1d6
Calling hours will take place Friday evening from 4-8pm at St. Andrew Catholic Church (1899 McCoy Road) with a Rosary service beginning at 7:30pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday at 10am at St. Andrew Catholic Church. Interment to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery (Lockbourne, OH).
TJ's life will live on through those who loved him as we continue to share stories and memories. But he will also live on through many others as his final gift to the world was organ donation. We hope that those fortunate enough to receive a physical part of TJ also receive a piece of his fun loving spirit.
We will be forever grateful for the love and support everyone has shown TJ throughout his life, especially during all of the challenging times he has had due to his medical condition. Thank you to cousins Adam Logan and Katie Logan Hedges and the loving crew at Forjak Industrial for all your support the last few years.
