Thomas P. Eagan of Mahopac, NY passed away with his family by his side on January 30, 2023 at the age of 69. He was born on January 4, 1954 in New York City; son of the late Thomas J. and Bridget (neé Coughlin) Eagan. On September 19, 1981 he married the love of his life Bernadette Conroy at St. Barnabas Church in the Bronx and they were blessed with 4 children.
Tom worked as a New York State Senior Court Officer in the Bronx before retiring in 2010. He was recognized for his exceptional work and was awarded several medals over the course of his career. He also assisted in the search and rescue effort at the World Trade Center after September 11th.
Tom loved taking cruises with his family, watching movies, cooking dinner for his wife and cherished the time spent with his children and grandchildren who adored him. His wife and children fondly remember him manning the grill every year at the annual family day event in the lake community where they lived. He was also very skillful with his hands and could often be found working on many projects around the home.
Tom is survived by his loving wife Bernadette, son Jeffrey and his wife Josephine, daughter Tara Manzano and her husband José, daughter Katie Cox and her husband Cameron, son Tom and his wife Jackie; siblings Theresa Waverla and James Eagan; and 9 grandchildren Lydia, Ella, Kayla, Sterling, Evelyn, Jameson, Harper, Leo and Morgan.
All are welcome to attend a visitation on Thursday, February 2nd from 1-3 & 6-8 PM at the Joseph J. Smith Funeral Home in Mahopac, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, February 3rd at 10 AM at St. John The Evangelist Church, also in Mahopac. A private cremation will follow services.
