Feehan, Thomas J. (Tommy) 1951-2026.
Suddenly, on 1-18-26. Tommy lived in Broomall, after growing up in Springfield, PA. He was the 3rd of 4 children, of Lenore and George (Bud) Feehan. He attended St. Francis of Assisi and Cardinal O’Hara (‘69). After high school, Tommy followed in his father’s footsteps, becoming a Master Plumber. Early in his career, he met the love of his life, Janet. They met through a mutual friend and became a couple shortly after. They were married on February 29th, 1976. Creating their family was always his most meaningful accomplishment.
Tommy went on to establish Feehan Plumbing & Heating, in 1977. He was in business for 48 years and always considered the young men who worked for him as extended family. He was on the Board of the Philadelphia Suburban PHCC for 10 years and a PHCC member for 30 years. Tommy’s strong work ethic and commitment to excellence were evident. He was not just a tradesman; he was a mentor to many, sharing his knowledge and skills with younger generations.
Tommy was a lover of sports, playing as well as watching. He was an ultimate Philadelphia fan, cheering on his beloved Eagles, Phillies and Flyers. Even more than that, though, he loved playing golf. Tommy enjoyed the sport and the camaraderie that came with it; spending time with old friends and making new ones. Some of his happiest days were playing with his father-in-law Jack, when he was alive. One of his favorite foursomes was with family: Andrew, Jake, and Jojo. His other most cherished foursomes were Jack Hagan, Jack Dugan, and Todd Horn and Bobby Mac, John Doherty and Mike Hagan. He was beyond thrilled that his grandson Max (12) took up the game last year. Watching Jake focus on golf as a future career, brought Tommy so much joy. He was present for most of his lessons and has been his biggest cheerleader as Jake moved to Florida to pursue golf as a profession.
More than anything, Tommy cherished his family. He was the ultimate “girl dad” before the phrase existed. He was at every sport and cheer event that his 3 girls participated in. He made a point to spend individual time with each of them and showered them with encouragement and unconditional love. Each of his work trucks had one of the girls’ names on the front (and later, grandchildren).
Being a Dad to 3 girls was Tommy’s greatest joy, but gaining 3 great guys in his life when they found their partners, had Tommy over the moon. Alex, Andrew and Gordon became his sons instantly, and he had a special and unique bond with each one of them.
Tommy grew up with some in his crew referring to him as “rubber legs”, as he loved dancing and glided across the dance floor. That talent was clearly handed down to the next generations and watching Mia, Maci and Emma on stage, was one of his favorite things to do. He watched every performance, competition and recital whether in person or on his iPad, with such pride and joy.
Tommy was also a prankster, often playing jokes on the family….Mason seems to be carrying on that legacy.
When his nephew, Johnny (Doherty) wanted to follow in the family footsteps, Tommy was elated. He taught him the trade and they have worked side by side, for the last 25 years. Johnny and Tommy had a truly special bond.
His phrase of “love ya pal” was on every card and at the end of every call or text. He was so joyful, recently, when his granddaughter, Maci, showed him his very phrase (in his writing) tattooed on her forearm.
Tommy is survived by his wife of almost 50 years, Janet G. Feehan (nee Glusman), his children, Jamie Micewski, Jill (Andrew) The, Jodi (Gordon) Webb, and his beloved grandchildren, Jake (girlfriend, Haley) and Maci (boyfriend, Gabe) Micewski, Mia and Max The, and Mason and Emma Webb. He is also survived by his dear sister, Mary Doherty and his brother Buddy (Jerry) Feehan. His brother, Lennie (Barbara), and his brother-in-law, John, both died in 2023. They were two of Tommy’s best friends and he missed them immensely.
Tommy is also survived by his nieces and nephews, John (Meghan) Doherty, Phillip (Tara) Doherty, Colleen (Mark) Rayer, and Tommy (Shayna) Doherty, Megan Feehan, Lauren (Eli) Gordon, Sharon (Joe) Pennock, Brian (Renee) Glusman, Danny (Jess) Glusman, Jeffrey (Amber) Glusman, and many great nieces and nephews, who he adored.
