Together Again
Thomas Ray Gindlesberger, 81 of Canal Fulton, passed away Friday, June 21, 2024. Tom was born on September 29, 1942, to Elmer and Anne Gindlesberger at Massillon City Hospital. He attended Canal Fulton grade school and graduated from Northwest High School in 1960.
Starting at an early age, Tom spent many summers working for his uncle Harold (Red) Byers who established Byers Handmade Candies. There, he learned many candy making skills that he recently passed on to his extended family.
Tom started his career in engineering, then devoted the next 35 years teaching in Akron Public Schools.
Tom and his wife Pat invested their lives into breeding, training, and showing horses, with many awards along the way.
After Pat's passing, Tom spent the last 2 ½ years writing memoires of his life to share with family and friends. One of the most beautiful was his writing "Back to the Son," which chronicled his journey back to faith, which climaxed with his baptism on December 17, 2023. He was a humble and passionate witness as he touched others with the Lord's gentle guidance.
Tom's selfless love radiated to those around him and set an example that you do not have to be blood to be family. He was even tagged with the name "Papa", because of his fatherly love and guidance. He was a gift to everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him, and to know him was to love him.
On June 21st, Tom closed his eyes one final time here on earth and opened them again in eternity. Now, he is riding in the sky with his bride, Pat, as they are together again!
Tom was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Bob and Rich, two sisters-in-laws (Elinor & Pam) and his high school sweetheart of 62 ½ years, Patty Jean (Wilhelm) Gindlesberger. He is survived by his younger brother Larry.
Family & friends will hold a celebration of life at a later date, afterwards Tom will be buried alongside of his wife in Canal Fulton Cemetery.

Tom helped us out when we first moved in our house. He helped my husband remove a pine tree in our yard had we not done this ithe pine tree would of fell onto the house. Tom and Pat were an amazing couple. Pat loved her animals she loved to plant flowers and she loved to bake. It's so lonely now that toms passing. We do see the horse's out but it's not the same as it was when Tom and Pat were there. We would often see them sitting in the gazebo. What a wonderful couple. They always had a smile on their faces. No harsh words said by either of them. Tom missed Pat allot. What an amazing person and amazing friend. They will be greatly missed by everyone who knew them. RIP Tom your with Pat and family in the glory of heaven. My grandchildren will miss you also. My sincere condolences to the family.

Oh tom we really miss you so very very much. My grandchildren really really miss you. When Pat was sick I was taking care of my mom she fell and broke her hip and shoulder. My dad passed away in 2005. Out of 8 siblings me being the youngest daughter. I took care of my mom and my father. My father had a stroke and my husband and I took care of him along with my father. I had to teach my father to read and write. My sister sold our family home on Wooster st canal Fulton Ohio. My sister passed away do to demtiia she passed on January due to her illness. I don't think she had dementia she was missing my mom and my dad. I think it was neglence. My niece put her in a nursing home. I think it was due to neglect. She was 67 when she passed away. Larry I'm so sorry for the loss of your brother Tom. Last time w saw him he was mowing the lawn. Tom was an amazing person and amazing friend my grandchildren will miss him so very very much. I remember when Pat was sick I was taking care of my mother at that time
Imu mother fell and broke her hip in 2008 my father passed away in 2005. Out of 8 siblings no one wanted to help me take care of her. I'm the youngest daughter out 8 siblings. I went to school with Jim Gindlesberger. He lives down the street from us. Tom was an amazing person and amazing friend he will absolutely missed by all that knew him I'm so sorry for your loss

What an amazing person and amazing friend he will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him. My grandchildren will miss him dearly. What an amazing family. Tom was an angel here on earth now he's an angel in heaven along with his amazing wife. We will miss you Tom. RIP tom until we meet again in heaven. Dear Larry I we are so sorry for your loss it's never easy to lose a loved one. Tom was an amazing person and amazing husband. I remember when Pat got sick. He took very good care of her he loved her dearly. Word's cannot express how much he adored her. Tom was an will always be an amazing person and amazing friend. Such a sweet couple. Pat loved to plant flowers and bake cookies. She loved her pets very much. Such an amazing couple. They never said any harsh words to anyone. Tom would bring the horse's over to our house so that my grandchildren could pet them. The other day my grandchildren were here and my granddaughter asked where's was the horses and where was Tom we had no clue that he had passed away. My grandchildren adored him. He was an amazing person and an amazing friend. He dearly missed Pat. It's saddens me that he is no longer with us but God saw that he was getting tired his work here on earth has been completed so he wrapped his arms around him and whispered in his ear come with me my child your work here on earth has been completed so he wrapped his arms around him and whispered come my child he walked him in the sand and as he walked in the sand and as they desended into heaven the footprints remained. The footprints in the sand remains there to this day. Tom was an amazing person and an amazing person he will be greatly missed by all that knew him. He's now with his wife and family in heaven celebrating together. He was an amazing person and an amazing friend. I'm so sorry for your loss. If there's anything you need don't hesitate to ask. Mr Gindlesberger and Mrs Gindlesberger were our neighbors. What amazing couple. Pat and Tom always had a smile on their faces. Tom helped my husband take a tree down beside our house. He brought his bulldozer over to help my husband pull the tree down. He missed his wife dearly. He loved her dearly. He would bring the horse's over to our house so that my grandchildren could pet them. What an amazing family they were. I never heard Tom or Pat say anything bad about anyone. When my granddaughter was a year old he bought the horse over so she wouldn't be scared of petting the horse. What a wonderful family. We will miss them dearly. Our grandchildren asked us today where is the horse man at. They adored him as we all do. He was an amazing person and an amazing friend. So sad to hear about his passing. To the family of Tom we send our prayers to you. He was a wonderful person and an amazing friend. He will be absolutely missed by all who knew him. RIP tom. Spread your wings and fly. What an amazing person and amazing friend he will be sadly missed by all who knew him. He would be outside with the horses and we would take our grandchildren over to see him and the horse's he brought the horses over to our house so that our grandchildren could pet them he's an amazing person and amazing friend we live at 1108 Milan St North its never easy to lose a loved one. Oh tom your an amazing person I remember when we first.moved.across the street from you. You helped us tare down the humugas pine tree down.
