Thomas W. "Tom" Goad

Thomas Wayne Goad, 78, of Rensselaer, IN, passed away on Wednesday, October 8, 2025.
He was born on June 6, 1947, in Rensselaer, the son of Roby and Margaret (Shide) Goad. Tom graduated from Rensselaer High School with the Class of 1966 and proudly served his country in the United States Army.
Throughout his career, Tom worked in maintenance and repair at Stark Truss in Rensselaer and previously served as a job site manager for Monty G. Williams Construction, where he oversaw the building of several warehouses across the country.
Tom was affiliated with the Catholic Church and enjoyed woodworking, refurbishing antiques, and crafting custom furniture. He also helped restore pieces at the former Strip Joint Shop in town. In his free time, Tom loved watching westerns and rodeos and spending time with his family, who meant the world to him.
He is survived by his daughter, Kasey (Derek) Butler of DeMotte, IN; two grandsons, Henry Butler and Theodore "Teddy" Butler; and siblings, John Goad of Lake Village, IN, Mary (Walt) Brown of Rensselaer, and Mike (Anita Padgett, fiancée) Goad of Rensselaer.
Tom was preceded in death by his beloved son, Jeffrey Goad; his parents; one brother; and two sisters.
Friends may visit with the family on Monday, October 13, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. CT at Jackson Funeral Chapel of Rensselaer. A funeral service will follow at 12:00 p.m. CT with Father Joshua Bennett officiating. Military honors will be rendered in recognition of Tom's service.
