Jamison C. "Jamie" Overton

Jamison "Jamie" C. Overton, age 50, of Kentucky, formerly of Rensselaer, IN, passed away on September 8, 2025. He was born on September 9, 1974, in Rensselaer, the son of Russell and Cheryl (Chris) Overton. Jamie graduated with the Class of 1993 from Rensselaer Central High School and went on to proudly serve his country in the United States Army. Jamie worked as a construction contractor for more than 15 years. He loved being outdoors, whether hiking, camping, or simply enjoying nature. Music was also a great source of joy, and he was often found listening or singing along. Jamie led a simple life, never concerned with material things, but instead with keeping busy through building and working on projects. He had a generous heart and was always willing to lend a hand to others. Above all, his greatest joy came from spending time with his family, especially his daughters and grandson. Surviving are his parents, Russell and Chris; daughters, Brianna Overton of Bowling Green, KY, Hannah (Brianna Smith) Overton of Scottsville, KY, and Summer Overton of White House, TN; grandson, Lakai Overton; siblings, Noelle (Phil) Weishaar of Rensselaer, Todd (Amy) Overton of Westmoreland, TN, and twin brother Jason (Jill) Overton of Portland, TN; along with many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Charles and Waneta Roberts, and his paternal grandmother, Edyth Davis. Friends may call on the family on Thursday, September 25, 2025, from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. CT at Brookside Church of Rensselaer. A time of remembrance with full military rites will follow at 6:30 p.m. CT. Jackson Funeral Chapel of Rensselaer has been entrusted with the arrangements.
