Deacon Thomas Goulter, age 16 of Centerburg, Ohio, died November 14th, 2024, suddenly at home in his sleep of a suspected seizure.
On February 29th, 2008, he was born in Columbus, Ohio. He was the son of Leah Goutler (Griffith) and Thomas Goulter. He attended school at Centerburg his whole academic career and enjoyed competing on Centerburg's high school bowling team. He was also an athlete on the Knox County Special Olympic track team. In his athletic journey he earned first place in the 100m dash and 4x100 at the official state meet, which he was extremely proud of, even declaring himself the GOAT.
There are too many stories to tell about Deacon's kindness and competitiveness. He was an avid artist who dreamed of selling his art and, "Making a lot of money." He was incredibly thoughtful and loved his family and friends more than anything. His brother Jackson Goulter (24), as well as his two sisters Jordan (28) and Chloe (20) Goulter were of great influence in his life, helping him develop a love for jokes, sports, and classic movies. He was quite the prankster and thought of himself as a ladies' man, frequently saying "How you doin'?" in reference to Joey from Friends. He always lightened up the room with a joke, often a reference from his favorite movies like Venom, Norbit, and Grown Ups. In Deacon's younger years, he could be found in numerous costumes such as Wolverine, Spiderman, and Captain America. While he outgrew his love for costumes, his love for superheroes continued to grow as he aged. Deacon Thomas Goulter was a superhero in many people's lives, and he will be dearly missed.
Friends may call on Thursday, November 21, 2024, from 5pm to 7pm at Snyder Funeral Homes, DeVore Chapel (637 N State Route 61, Sunbury, Ohio) where the Funeral Service will take place the following Friday, November 22, 2024 beginning at 10am.
