Thomas Glen "Tommy" Weaver, a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend to many, passed away on October 14, 2025, in Wilmington, NC. Born on May 8, 1972, in Jacksonville, NC, Tommy lived a vibrant life filled with love, laughter, and dedication to those he held dear. He was 53 years old.
Tommy graduated from Middletown Senior High School in Middletown, NY, and pursued further education by earning several Associate Degrees in Mechanics and Computers from Cape Fear Community College. A man of many talents, he went on to become the owner of a successful home repairs business, where his skillful hands and sharp mind brought comfort and beauty to many homes.
Beyond his professional achievements, Tommy served his country with honor as a soldier in the US Army, bravely participating in the Gulf War during his service in Kuwait. He carried the values learned in the military throughout his life, demonstrating unwavering loyalty, courage, and kindness in all his endeavors.
Tommy had a genuine passion for sports, particularly enjoying watching the New York Giants play football and spending time at the baseball diamond. However, what brought him the most joy was being around his young nieces and nephews, whom he affectionately referred to as his "grandkids." His eyes would light up with pride and happiness whenever he spoke of or was with them.
A man remembered for his generous spirit, Tommy was deeply committed to the wellbeing of others. His good heart and warm nature left a lasting impression on everyone he met.
He is survived by his loving father, Thomas D. Weaver, and his wife, Silvia; his devoted mother, Theresa A. Dowd; his caring siblings, William Rios and Stephanie Hess; his cherished "daughter," Erin Childers; and his adored nieces and nephews, Deserie Rios, Layla, Fiona, Walker, Tucker Childers, McKenzie, and Axel Dowd. Tommy's absence leaves a profound void in their hearts, but his legacy of love and kindness will continue to inspire them.
Friends are invited to celebrate Tommy's life on Friday, October 24, 2025. Visitation will be held at Wilmington Funeral Chapel, 1535 S. 41st Street, Wilmington, NC 28403, from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m., followed by a funeral service at 3:00 p.m.
Tommy's warmth, generosity, and zest for life will be missed dearly. May he rest in peace, knowing he was deeply loved and that his memory will forever be cherished.
