Thomas W. Green, 91, of Hermitage, passed away following a brief illness on Thursday morning, January 8, 2026, in his home.

Mr. Green was born on August 13, 1934, in Sharon, a son of the late Russell and Ruth (Chisholm) Green. He was a 1952 graduate of Sharon High School, where he was a standout basketball player and attended Marietta College on an athletic scholarship. Later in life, Tom was honored for his excellence on the court and inducted into the Mercer County and Marietta College Hall of Fames.

Tom honorably served in country in the U.S. Army. Upon his honorable discharge, he returned home, where he worked for more than 33 years as an inspector for the former National Castings, Sharon. Upon the plant’s closure, he worked an additional 15 years for the City of Sharon, street department. Most recently, he delivered flowers for the former Sharon Floral and Kraynak’s Flower Boutique and Greenhouses, Hermitage.

Tom was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Sharon.

An avid golfer, for several years he participated in the Inn 62 league. Tom also enjoyed vacationing in Florida. Above all, he cherished time spent with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, the former Margie Eagleson, whom he married on September 9, 1962; two daughters, Kelly Baum and her husband, Gary, of Sharon, and Shannon Black and her husband, Jason, of Hermitage; a son, Tommy Green and his wife, Angela, of Hermitage; a daughter-in-law, Tracy Green, of Sharon; and nine grandchildren, Allison, Abbigail, Amelia, Kylie, Monica, Andrew, Ashley, Bobbie and Dawn.

In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by a son, John David Green; a sister, Ellaruth Agosti; and a brother, Russell Green.

The family suggests memorial contributions be directed to either the American Heart Association, at www.Heart.org; or the Buhl Club, 28 Pine St., Sharon, PA 16146.
