Thomas P. Griffin

Thomas Patrick Griffin, age 62, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 09, 2022, at Jersey Shore Medical in Neptune, NJ surrounded by his loving family. Born in Teaneck NJ, raised in Palisades Park, NJ, relocated to Wall Township, NJ in 1981. He graduated from Bergen County Vocational High School, while attending he worked part time at Silva Printing producing advertisement and announcements. Thomas joined the US Navy after graduating from high school. During his service in the US Navy he worked as a Boatswain. After his active duty he became a reservist and worked as a CB. He also return to Silva Printer, until he obtained a position at the Asbury Park Press as a Press Operator from 1987 through 2017. After the Asbury Park Press he worked at the Sandy Hook National Park as a Maintenance Engineer. Thomas was an active member of the Elks, American Legion and the Friendly Sons of the Shillelagh Jersey Shore located in Belmar. Thomas enjoyed volunteering at the Friendly Sons of Shillelagh where he was awarded Shillelagh of the year as a member of the kitchen crew. Thomas was part of the kitchen crew for many years and enjoyed helping out during the many events.
Thomas was predeceased by his parents Peter Griffin and Elizabeth "Betty" (Mitchell) Griffin. He is survived by his siblings, Michael and Kathryn Griffin, Peter and Donna Griffin, Robert Griffin, Elizabeth "Liz" Griffin and Jeffery Oxnard, Sean and Maricelda Griffin and Ellen and Brian Gallagher. Aunt Helen Mitchell. Nephews Peter J. Griffin and Michael Griffin Jr, Nieces Kelsey Reyes, Lacey Griffin and Solange Griffin. Great-Nieces Giovanna Griffin, Charlotte, and Lucillia Reyes.
Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Thursday, July 14, 2022, from 5-8 pm at Orender Family Home for Funerals 2643 Old Bridge Road Manasquan, NJ 08736. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday 10:30 am at St Rose Church, Belmar. Interment will be at a later date in Brig Gen William C Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Wrightstown, NJ.
