Thomas Bailey Hall, 78, of Galveston, died July 26th, 2025. Tom was the son of Adin and Elizabeth Hall. He is survived by his wife Susan Syler, son Dan and partner Hunter Brown, daughter and son-in-law Heather and Eric Swenson, grandsons Gavin and Bailey, granddaughter Sage, and brothers Rick and Jim and their families. He is also survived by his wife's children's families: the Amy Soupiset family-grandchildren Jordan (wife Olive), Abi, Kate, and Emma and the Syler and Heidi Thomas family-grandchildren Kaila (husband Jesús), Ellie, Foster, and Grace.
Tom was born September 24, 1946 in Cushing, Oklahoma. He was an Eagle scout, a graduate of Bellaire High School in Houston and the University of Texas, a professional musician, a Vietnam veteran, a carpenter, and a building contractor. He enjoyed playing softball, fly fishing on the Texas coast, and building and restoring wooden boats; he was also an avid cyclist.
Tom and Susan bought their Galveston house in 2006 and drove to Galveston from Austin every other weekend for over 10 years, taking the house down to the studs and painstakingly rehabilitating it. They moved to Galveston permanently in 2019.
Tom hoped that he would be remembered for his integrity in his work, his enjoyment of the silly, and his striving for quality at work and play.
