Thomas Halpin Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Williams-Kampp Funeral Home on Feb. 23, 2026.
Thomas A. Halpin, 67, of Warrenville, beloved husband of Kathryn (nee Sweet). Loving father of Richard and James. Caring brother of Catherine (David) Hill, Alexandra (William) Gilmore. Fond uncle of Desiree Pritchard, Alex Hill, Daniel Hill and Michael (Kirstie) Hill, Kenneth Sweet, Tyler Sweet, Michael Sweet and Meghan Sweet.

Preceded in death by his parents, Sydney and Ruth Halpin, sisters Margaret and Sheila Halpin, and nephew Nicholas Halpin.

Kay and Tom met at LTHS and have two sons Rick and Jim. Tom also had four sisters. Tom has been in our friend group since high school and he will be greatly, greatly missed. Tom had a huge interest in music and had probably the biggest record collection of anyone from LT. He knew everything about music, various genres, artists, bandmates, concert data etc. He had a sharp mind for details and was an amazing Trivial Pursuit player. If you were on Tom's team you were on the winning team!

Tom was kind, loving, a good friend to all, and easy to spend time with. After high school he worked at the Mercantile Exchange in the commodities market where he had a lifetime career.

Kay and Tom initially lived in LaGrange in Tom's childhood home and thereafter moved to Warrenville where they raised their sons and were involved in their community.

An Open House to celebrate Tom's life will be held on March 8, 2026 from 3:00-8:00 p.m.
