Daniel Joseph Rock, known to many as Dan, age 53, of Winfield, Illinois, passed away suddenly on Friday, February 6, 2026.

Dan was born on February 22, 1972, in Omaha, Nebraska. He was raised in Wheaton, Illinois, and was the beloved son of Karen (Ratterman) Rock and James Rock, who survive him.

Dan attended Glenbard South High School in Glen Ellyn, Illinois, and later graduated from Indiana University, where he began building the foundation for a long and successful professional career.

Dan was a devoted and active father. He is survived by his children, Mikaela Rock (24) and Jake Rock (23). He is also survived by his siblings James Rock (Karen), Michael Rock (Stephanie), Julie Rock (Jamie Klein), and David Rock, along with his nieces and nephews Lily, Thomas, Nora, Emily and Jason.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents Arthur Rock, Sr., Adele Rock, Kermit Ratterman, and Theresa Ratterman, and by his uncles Arthur Rock, Jr. and John Rock.

For more than 30 years, Dan worked in the mortgage industry, most recently serving as Senior Vice President of Mortgage Lending and Branch Manager at Rate. He was widely respected for his deep knowledge of the business, integrity, and steady commitment to helping others. Dan was known as a trusted leader, mentor, and advocate for his clients and colleagues.

Outside of work, Dan enjoyed time with friends, the outdoors, golfing, and bowling, and was an avid fan of hockey and baseball. He was deeply committed to his children and to being present in their lives.

To family and friends alike, Dan will be remembered as kind-hearted, quick-witted, supportive, and dependable. He was thoughtful and genuine, someone others could always count on. Above all, he was devoted to showing up for the people he loved.
