Alan Liskey Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Williams-Kampp Funeral Home on Feb. 14, 2026.
Alan J. Liskey, age 80, passed away peacefully at home on January 31, 2026, surrounded by love in Little River, South Carolina.

Born in Cleveland, Ohio, Alan was the beloved son of the late John (Jack) and Ann Liskey and was preceded in death by his brother, Gary Liskey.

He is survived by his wife, Linda; his children, Michael (Kris) Liskey, Edward Liskey, and Paula (Acey) Liskey-Sell; and his siblings, Dale Liskey and Diane Ott. Alan also leaves behind extended family members and many dear friends who shared in his life and will miss him dearly.

Alan was raised in the western suburbs of Cleveland, Ohio, where his values were shaped and where he built a strong foundation for family life. It was there that he began raising his three children, a role he cherished deeply. His journey later took him to the Chicago area, where he remained until his youngest child graduated. Seeking a new chapter, warmer weather, and professional opportunities near his sister, Diane, Alan moved to Houston, Texas. His path ultimately brought him to the Carolinas, where he found a vibrant community and lasting joy.

A man of deep and enduring Catholic faith, Alan's beliefs were rooted in values instilled by his parents and formed from grade school through high school. He lived his faith through service, generously giving his time to Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church as a CCD teacher, serving as a lector, and participating actively in parish life. His faith guided his life with humility, gratitude, and quiet strength.

Alan built a lifelong career in warehousing and transportation and was known as a steady, fair, and dedicated leader. He managed complex operations and large teams with quiet confidence and took pride in mentoring others, earning the respect of colleagues throughout his career.

Alan held a lifelong devotion to his alma mater, St. Edward High School (Class of 1963) in Lakewood, Ohio, where the values of brotherhood and loyalty left a lasting impression on him. He faithfully followed the Eagles throughout his life, especially the football team. He was also deeply devoted to Notre Dame, admiring the University for its faith, tradition, and values. He faithfully watched daily Mass and made the long journey to South Bend year after year to attend football games-traditions that brought him deep meaning and connection.

Bowling was a lifelong passion for Alan, providing enjoyment and camaraderie. Music was another great love, particularly the sound of the horns in beach music. His love of music and shag dancing was a major reason Alan and Linda chose to move from Houston to the North Myrtle Beach area, where they embraced the local music scene. Known affectionately as the "Texas Connection," they were honored as Fans of the Year in 2016. Alan especially cherished the Carolina Beach Music Awards (the Cammys) and the many cherished friendships within the Shag community.

Alan was also known for his sense of humor and his appreciation for life's simple routines. One of his favorite traditions was watching Seinfeld before bedtime, a nightly ritual that brought him comfort, laughter, and a familiar sense of joy.

Alan will be remembered for his unwavering faith, devotion to family, love of music, strong values, and quiet integrity. His legacy lives on in the many lives he touched.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Alan's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the Salesian Missions.
