Thomas Walter Hansen, age 77, passed away surrounded by loved ones at his home on Tuesday, December 30, 2025. He was born on July 21, 1948 in Manitowoc County to Harvey and Delores (Kress) Hansen.
Thomas graduated from Kiel High School in 1967. Shortly after graduation, he proudly served his country as a Vietnam veteran, joining the United States Navy and later continuing his service in the Naval Reserves. On September 5, 1970, he married the love of his life, Janet Florian, and together they raised 4 children; Kerry, Christopher, Jenny, and Andy.
Thomas worked as a dedicated dairy farmer up until his retirement. He also enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. He loved camping with his family, gardening, going out to lunch, and playing cards with those he cared about most. Thomas will be remembered for his service, his love for family, and the quiet joy he found in everyday moments. Above all, he cherished time spent with family and friends, creating memories that will be held close by all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife Janet Hansen and loving children: Kerry (Kimberly) Hansen, Christopher (Jacee) Hansen, Jenny Hansen, and Andy (Samantha) Hansen; and his grandchildren: Kyra, Ashton, Cole, John, Caitlyn, Owen, Alyson, and Jordyn. He is also survived by his siblings; Karl (Mona) Hansen, Daniel (Karen) Hansen, Rosie, and Kathy, as well as his sister-in-law Linda.
Thomas was preceded in death by his brothers Gary Hansen and Edward Hansen.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Aurora Home Hospice for their compassionate care and support.
A Celebration of Thomas’ life will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2026 from 12:00-3:00 p.m. at Butch and Anne’s Pine Grove, W3225 County Rd MM, in Elkhart Lake.
