Thomas Harcus Obituary

Sandown, NH: Thomas Harcus, 64, of Sandown and a former resident of Salem, NH and Kingston, died on January 17, 2016. Born in Newburyport, MA and raised in Plaistow, son of the late Thomas Harcus and Alice (Lancaster) Harris, he attended the Pollard School and graduated from Timberlane Regional High School with the Class of 1969. He went on to attend the University of New Hampshire. Mr. Harcus was the President and Co-Owner of Computer Automated Test Equipment (CATE) Inc. in Sandown since 1990. He had also been employed at CFR in the 1980s and prior to that with Massachusetts Business Equipment Co in the 1970s. As Lead vocalist in the 1960's and early 70's for the rock band, The Other Five, Mr. Harcus and his band appeared on New Hampshire Band Stand. He was also a model train enthusiast and enjoyed fishing, tennis and playing video games. He most enjoyed spending time with his wife, Nicki, and their dog, Amber. He is survived by his wife Nijola "Nicki" (Bazikas) Harcus, a son, Jason T. Harcus of New Boston, NH, a daughter, Carrie L. Harcus and her husband Raymond Jaffe of Bryn Mawr, PA, two sisters, Kathy (Harcus) Jackson of Sisters, OR, and Lisa (Harris) Peterson of Newton, NH, two grandchildren, Sienna and Sage Jaffe, mother in law Vanda Bazikas, brother in law Vytas Bazikas, and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Relatives and friends are invited to attend Mr. Harcus's Life Celebration on Saturday, January 23 from 3 to 5 p.m. at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main Street, Plaistow, NH. Sue and I are so sorry for your loss, he passed so young. I remember Tommy at Pollard and Timberlane High School with that great handsome smile! It is a great way to remember him, with that great big smile.
