Mr. Thomas L. Howard, age 88, of Youngstown Ohio, and surrounding areas, passed away on Thursday morning, March 27, 2025 at Liberty Health Care Center where he had been a resident for the past 5 years. He was born on August 14, 1936, in Sharon, PA, a son to the late Thomas Howard Sr, and Marjorie Brandt Howard.
Thomas was preceded in death by his wife, Jenetta Porterfield Howard whom he loved with all of his heart, parents Thomas Sr. and Marjorie Howard, two brothers: William (Bill) and John (Jackie) Howard, two sisters: Mary Howard and Mildred Emory Howard, four stepdaughters: Crystal Porterfield, Gail Boles, Sherry Stone, and Dorothy Burnett. Stepson: Henry (Sonny) Porterfield.
Thomas is survived by his sisters Dorothy Kriston and Dolores Neely. Six step children, many nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren. As well as many other family and friends who will sadly miss him.
Thomas (Tom or Tommy) was a loving, caring and generous soul who would gladly help anyone in need. He was a veteran and a dedicated and loving family man. Thomas was an avid Cleveland fan passionately following the Brown and Guardians. He also enjoyed playing bingo and made many friends while doing so. Those who had the pleasure of knowing Thomas have all said he was a great man with a wonderful personality and someone that will be deeply missed.
Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, April 1, 2025 at John Flynn Funeral Home located at 2630 E State St, Hermitage, PA 16148 with Pastor Jeff Dennis officiating. An Entombment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park
Visitation for family and friends will be April 1, 2025, from 10:00-11:00 am in the Funeral Home Chapel. A funeral Service will follow at 11:00 am with Pastor Jeff Dennis officiating.
