Thomas Edwin Irr

Thomas (Tom) Edwin Irr, age 74, of Wheeling, West Virginia, peacefully passed away on March 22, 2024. He was born on March 1, 1950, in Cleveland, Ohio, to the late Marie and Armand Irr. He is survived by his adoring daughter, Victoria (Vicki) J. Irr of St. Mary's, WV and his loving brother, Richard (Rich) A. Irr of Cleveland, OH.
Tom was a Vietnam-era veteran with the US Army and wished to thank all veterans for their services.
Tom leaves behind a legacy of kindness and generosity. He was known for his warm and welcoming nature by making friends wherever he went and providing assistance and support to those in need on a daily basis. He dedicated his time to helping others by volunteering at many non-profits. His passion for mental health advocacy was evident through his active involvement with NAMI Wheeling and with DBSA Wheeling as the President, where he made significant contributions and acted as support group leader.
His impact on the community extended beyond personal connections, as he supported various charitable organizations close to his heart. Through donations and volunteer work, Tom showed his commitment to causes such as Special Olympics of WV, Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance (DBSA), The Humane Society of the United States and International, Disabled American Veterans, Guide Dog Foundation and Americas VetDogs, SPCA International, and ASPCA Animal Hospital. All of these held a special place in his heart.
Services honoring Tom's life will be held in private at a time that is convenient for his family. Donations may be made in Tom's honor to Special Olympics- West Virginia or any of the above-named organizations.
He will be fondly remembered for his dedication to serving others and his unwavering compassion towards those in need.
